Do or Die makes the finals of WAM Song of the year
With two songs making the top twenty in the Country and Regional categories I was so pleased that one of the new singles, "Do or Die", made it to the final five. Ange and I had a great night at the awards night, and though we sadly didn't win, it was wonderful encouragement. Congrats to Rhys Wood on a great song and win. Keep an eye out for "Honky Tonk Heaven" coming soon.
At last I have some new music for you. Two new singles I recorded last year with the amazing James Newhouse of Lamb chop studios.
The first, out now, is a song I wrote for my dear Mum, just before she passed. It's a special song to me and I wanted to do it justice. It's called, In This Moment. The video is a 2d animation I made with my wife Angela that tells the story of my Mum and Dad meeting as teens and their long and happy marriage. Check it out "here". I do hope you can all have a listen and share it as much as you can.
The second is a fun song about doing a late night drive to the big smoke and the sometimes foolish chances we take to be with the ones we love. Do or Die will be out March 15.

Wow did we have fun at the Boyup Brook Country Music festival 2023. Feel so honoured to be asked to play on the main stage on the Friday night. We had a lovely crowd and some beautiful compliments afterwards. Our new line up sounded very tight in what was essentially our first gig as a complete band. We are all really inspired to get more material together and get our music out to a wider public.

I know it's been a while between updates but I have some fresh news!!! After having been cancelled last year, due to the pandemic, The Boyup Brook Country Music Awards are back and we were a part of it. I was very proud to be a finalist in the Best Male and Best Video categories. The later being the result of a little stop motion animation I made with my wife Angela D'Arcy-Evans for the song Sugarcane. We were so excited to win (our first award together) in this category for our little labour of love.

So excited at the moment. We've just returned from a fantastic Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. It was an amazing experience where we got to rub shoulders with some of the finest entertainers in the biz. I can't deny though, the highlight for me was picking up the "Independent Songwriter Of The Year" award for "I'll Be Gone". Since the announcement a lot more people are hearing my music, which is fantastic. It feels like we are picking up momentum again. Time for some fresh tunes I think.
I was over the moon to have met these guys. The Eastern Line won best EP and it couldn't have gone to nicer blokes. We really hit it off on the night and the next day they supported me on the big stage playing tunes from my EP. What legends.
